Karachi: Three years have passed since the birth of Amjad Sabri, a well-known poet with a loving style, but the memory of this eternal personality is still fresh in our hearts.
Amjad Sabri, a well-known Qawwal, was shot dead by unknown gunmen on June 23, 2016 at Liaquatabad No. 10 on the 16th of Ramadan. He claimed responsibility for the attack.

On April 2 this year, Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa had signed the death warrants of 10 terrorists, including the killers of Amjad Sabri, all of whom were involved in serious terrorist attacks. A Pakistan Army spokesman said that Ishaq and Asim, Arish Khan, Rafiq, Habib-ur-Rehman, Fayyaz, Ismail Shah, Fazal Mohammad, Ali son of Mohammad Ali and Habib were among the terrorists sentenced to death by the military courts.
After the separation of father Farid Sabri, Amjad Sabri paid the right of father’s inheritance to the one who kept his name alive, and made a name for himself in Qawwali. Amjad Sabri saw Sufism growing up at home from his childhood. He started singing at the age of eight while receiving training in the art of Qawwali from his father.
Love for Allah and His saints filled Amjad Sabri’s voice with such sweetness and serenity that the listeners get lost in the magic of the voice. Amjad Sabri read many speeches in Pakistan and India. He has received many awards so far along with Pride of Performance.
