Well known composer, actor, writer and poet Tariq Aziz started his artistic journey with Radio Pakistan and when television broadcasting started in Pakistan he was the first to appear on the screen as the host.


The most popular program like “Auction House” will always be remembered in his decades-long artistic journey in Pakistan. The auction house was a mental test that captivated viewers for years, thanks to Tariq Aziz’s unique and distinctive style.


When these hosts of the auction house came on stage, when they uttered the phrase “Seeing eyes, hearing ears, greetings to Tariq Aziz” in their own unique style and unique voice, it was as if they would sink into their hearts.


Tariq Aziz emerged from Lahore in 1964 as a host of PTV and in 1975 his show “Auction House” started which was later renamed as “Bazm Tariq Aziz”.


Tariq Aziz was born on April 28, 1936 in Jalandhar. During the Partition of India, his family came to Pakistan where Tariq Aziz spent his childhood in Sahiwal and also received his early education there.


In Pakistan, Tariq Aziz not only hosted radio and TV programs but also acted in TV and movies. His first film, Insanity, was released in 1967, while the knot of the year, the type of time, the dagger and the lost man are also famous and notable films.


He was also a writer and poet. He also memorized many poems. He also wrote columns and wrote scripts for his programs, a collection of his columns called Dastan while a collection of Punjabi poetry Hamzad Da Dukh was published. Tariq Aziz also wrote poetry in Urdu and spoke well in this language.


Tariq Aziz also participated in politics and was elected a member of the National Assembly in 1997.


Today they are separated from us forever. Tariq Aziz, who died in Lahore, was 84 years old.
