Last day for a bus driver on the road

She was a normal bus and Sarup Singh was a normal driver. The passengers thought that the bus would speed up after coming out of the crowded area, but this did not happen today.

Saroop Singh’s hands were not only hard but also soft. His heart was melting today, he would sometimes look at the bus, sometimes at the rides, and sometimes at the trees running outside, as if there was something special. The conductor knew the secret, but the passengers were disturbed by the slow speed of the bus.

“Driver, drive a little faster, we have to go further,” said one in a very bitter tone.

Saroop Singh said sweetly. “I haven’t had a bus accident to date …”

The riders became even more angry. “It doesn’t mean twenty, thirty …” Drive at low speed. ”Two or four even started saying something bad.

Despite trying, Saroop Singh was not able to speed up the bus. He stopped the bus in increasing noise, turned his face and spoke.

“The thing is, I have a 30-year relationship with this route. Today is the last time I’m driving a bus on this route.

As soon as the bus arrives at its destination, I will retire, so … “Her voice trailed off.

(The title of this short story by Ashok Bhatia is “Relationships”, which emotionally portrays a man’s own work, his use of a machine, an object or a way in a way that is years old. Mohammad Afzal Khan has translated it into Urdu)
