Xiaomi’s ecological chain company and a famous Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huami, at its recent Annual Strategic Media Communication Conference 2019, announced that its innovative Amazefit X smartwatch will start shipping in the second half of 2020.
At the press conference, the Company unveiled three of its products: Amazfit GTS, Amazfit Sports Watch 3 and the Amazfit X Concept Watch. The first two are vanilla smartwatches while the Amazefit X concept watch has been termed as the “watch from the future”.
Aesthetically, it looks much like Nubia’s Alpha wearable smartphone. Considering the Company’s statement that the watch will be ‘mass-produced’ in 2020, consumers can rest assured that it will be a commercial product.
Amazefit X features
The smartwatch was first announced in August this year. It will come with an all-metal integration design without traditional raised buttons. Rather, will feature hidden electronic buttons. According to Huami, it will feature a proprietary 2.07-inch flexible curved screen, a 92 degrees super-arc curvature achieved by heating the metal body through an ultra-high temperature of 700 degrees Centigrade using the 6-bend bending process.
The watch will feature a display area of up to 244 percent in comparison to other smartwatches. The display will come with 326 PPI pixel density, 430 nits brightness, and 100% NTSC color gamut.
Apart from this, the watch will be fueled by a 220mAh curved lithium battery that, according to Huami, will have a 7 days battery life. Due to its curved form-factor, it will feature a three-segment motherboard.
