Foldable Huawei Mate X2 to Come With a Stylus

Huawei’s first foldable phone, the Mate X, has been in limbo since the start of this year. Finally, after a long wait, the company is readying the phone for launch in October in China while the rest of the world will see the phone in November.

Just as the company is working to launch the Mate X, its Research and Development department is apparently busy working on Mate X’s successor.

Recently, A Huawei patent on the USPTO (the United States Patent and Trademark Office) database surfaced on the internet revealing the design and schematics of Huawei Mate X’s successor, unofficially being referred to as the Mate X2.

The patent shows a compartment for a flat stylus, which will be new to the series as the Mate X does not feature one. The design refreshment includes a thinner camera and battery setup. Also, the stylus will go into a compartment in the place that currently holds a USB Type-C port. Which indicates that the company will most probably move the port to another position.

LetsGoDigital, based on the design elements revealed by the patent, has come up with a rough concept design of the folding smartphone.

This patent and concept design doesn’t mean that we are looking at the final design of the smartphone. The company has most probably patented the design to keep it from being copied.
