The government is going to launch an online system for the registration of mobile phones and payment of taxes next week.
Hammad Azhar, the Stated Minister for Revenue, made the announcement regarding the matter. He said that the test run of the system was complete and it will be launched in the coming week.
His tweet said:
Online Mobile Registration & Tax Payment System’s soft test successfully conducted on test servers. We are aiming to launch the system within one week.
The minister further explained that the new system was “user-friendly and secure [for] registration & payments.”

He further elaborated that with the help of the online portal, people would find it “easier to register & if needed, pay taxes from home.”

Last week, PTA officials informed the Senate Standing Committee on IT and Telecom that their system for online mobile registration for overseas Pakistanis was going to be completed within a week.
It further said that after the launch of the portal, people wouldn’t have to visit customs offices for paying taxes/duty for registration of mobile devices anymore.
